Newspaper Article from The South-Western, February 13, 1856

The Minden Herald says a few days ago D. J. Morris killed John Markham,
both of Claiborne Parish, by stabbing him in the breast and side. It
occurred at the house of Morris.  The case was investigated before Judge
H. A. Drew and Morris was discharged.
