She was born in Bell County Aug. 29, 1890 and had lived in Houston 31 years prior to coming to Salado about three years ago to make her home. She had been hospitalized for several months. She was a member of the Salado Baptist Church. Surviving are four children, Mrs. W.C. Wallace of Belton, Mrs. E.E. Kelley of Houston, W.Y. Hooks of Salado and L.E. Hooks of Texas City; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1927. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heartfield Chapel in Belton with the Rev. Guinn Williamms, pastor of the Salado Baptist Church officiating, assisted by the Rev. Claude Snowden, pastor of the First Christian Church. Burial will be in North Belton Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
