The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** Submitted by: Rayedene May 23, 2001 ======================================================================= Temple Daily Telegram March 28, 1932 Mrs. Betty Wise, Pioneer Citizen, Dies of Illness Mrs. Betty Ray Wise, who came to Temple in 1882, died Sunday evening at 6:45 o'clock, at the home of her son, George Connorty, 604 South Seventh, after an illness of two months. Mrs. Wise was born in Wharton county, near Sealy, and moved to Temple 50 years ago. She was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Fritz. Her six brothers preceded her in death. She lived in Ferris for a number of years, but for the past four had made her home with her son here. Her other two sons, who survive her, are John Connorty and Charles Connorty, both of Dallas. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Wright funeral church, with Rev. Michael MarYosip, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, in charge. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Active pall bearers will be: Hubert Wynne, Sidney Pilgrim, Jack Safley, J. P. Hines, T. J. Hall and W. L. Fisher, Jr.
