He was buried at Comanche, beside his wife. He had attained the ripe age of eighty years. Judge Danley came to Texas from Missouri in 1847, and for many years was an honored citizen of Bell county. He was the first Judge of this County, an office then designated as Chief Justice, with powers and duties almost equal to those of Judge and Commissioners of today, and assisted in surveying the county line when Bell county was seperated from the Milam District in 1850. We extend sympathy to all who are bereaved of his death. ======================================================= FROM THE DUBLIN PROGRESS- FRIDAY AUGUST 2,1901 Judge John Danley, an old landmark of Erath county and a pioneer Texan, died at the home of his daughter, Miss Sallie Danley, in this city last Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. He was born in February 1822 and would therefore have been eighty-one years of age at his next birthday.
