The State of Mississippi, Noxubee County

To any regular, ordained Minister of the Gospel, Judge, Justice of the
Police Court, or acting Justice of the Pease, in and for said county,
Greetings:

You or either of you are hereby authorised to solemnize the rights of
Matrimony, between John Markum and Miss Sarah Upshaw and join them
together as man and wife in holy estate of wedlock; Your official
Certificate whereof you are to return, together with the license, into the
office of the clerk of the Probates Court of said county, within the time
proscribed by law.

Witness Jno J. Beauchamp Judge of Probates of said County, this the 18th
day of August 1843.

In virtue hereof the writes of matrimony between John Markum and Miss
Sarah Upshaw were duly celebrated by me the 3d day September 1843
