To any Ordained Minister of the gospel, Judge of the District Court, or Justice

of the Peace:

You, or either of you, are hereby authorized to solemnize, or join in the Holy 

Bonds of MATRIMONY.. 

			Mr. A. Kennedy and Miss Annie E. Payne

in accordance with the Laws of this State, and that you make due return of this,

your authority, to my office, in sixty days from the date hereof, certifiying how

you have executed the same.

        GIVEN under my hand and seal of this County, this 7th day of June 1881...

Miss Annie Jane Payne was born in 1860 in Bell County, daughter of James Granville
Payne and Carrie M. Thames. Alexander Kennedy, came to Bell County, Tx.,  from 
Scotland in 1880. James and Carrie are my great great grandparents.
