All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgenwebarchives.org *********************************************** Georg Heinrich Buchsenshutz Cemetary Established circa 1881 Recorded by: Patrick Murphy Burch (Patrick.burch@jppsosat.randolph.af.mil) Deed Volume 1809 pages 173 and 177 San Antonio Courthouse (Original Deed of Wetmore Estate Volume 2 page 594) Location: Cemetary is approximately 250ft beyond the end of the culdesac of Briarwest in the Village at Knoll Creek subdivision in Northern Bexar County. It is abutted on the north by a utility road for the electrical powerplant. Access may be gained from the utility road off Jung Rd. or overland from Briarwest Rd. The cemetery is surrounded by a four foot cyclone fence 40ft by 60ft in the center of a vacant field. History: This was a family cemetery established on the Farm of Georg Heinrich Buchsenshutz and was used by his relatives until the 1940. The land was sold to developers who denied access to the cemetery until forced by court order in the 1960s. The Cemetary has been descrecrated twice in 1970 and 1983. New tombstones were placed on most of the graves in 1983 made of gray granite and the two eldest stones were repaired by Alvina Buchsenshutz’s descendents Tommy Lee Burch and Colette R. Bible.
