Berrey Rank: Special Ranger Company (Blank), Ranger Force Station: San Antonio, Texas Enlisted April 13, 1933 **************************** Begin acutual Transcription **************************** Enlistment Oath of Service, and Description of Ranger Force Company (Blank) Ranger Force, Station (Blank) The State of Texas, County of Bexar I, L.C. Berrey, born in Mobile in the State of Alabama, aged 53 years and no months, and by occupation a Druggist do hereby acknowledge to have voluntarily enlisted this 13th day of April, 1933, as a private in the Ranger Force of this State, for the period of two years, unless sooner discharged by proper authority, without compensation. And I do solemnly swear that I will faitfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent on me as an officer of the Ranger Force according to the best of my skill and ability, agreeably to the Constituion and laws of the united States and of this State, and I do further solemnly swear that since the adoption of the Constitution of this State, I being a citizen of this State have not fought a duel with deadly weapons, nor have I acted as second in carrying a challenge, or aided, advised or assisted any person thus offending. And I furthermore answer that I have not, directly or indirectly paid, offered or promised to pay, contributed nor promisted to contribute, any money or valuable thing, or promised any public office or employment to secure my appointment.
