The warehouse at 108 E. Guenther was shared by three firms, the H.H. Wear Transport co., the Texas Bolt and Scew co. and the Mid-Continent freight lines,ine. The first alarm came in at 3:45 a. m. first Asst. Fire Chief Henry Uecker turned in the second alarm at 3:48 a. m. He said the roof fell in just as he arrived. The 1-story building, situated across the street from the Pioneer Flour mills, is made of corrugated metal and wood and measures 80 by 150 feet. Fireman Hurt Fireman I.G. Kalinoski was cut on the wrist by a piece of falling metal. He was treated and released at Santa Rosa hospital. Seven engine and three truck companies were on hand, with assorted fire brass, including chief A.L. Rathke. H.H. wear, operator of his own trucking firm, put his losses at $6000. He estimated the building's worth at $15,000. He suggested the Texas Bolt and Screw co, loss would exceed $100,000. However, an oficer of that firm put theie damages between &15,000 and &20,000. Cause Unascertained The owner, H.E. Colemere, refused to make any estimate. Arson investigator L.L. Findley said the cause of the blaze is undetermined, but arson is not suspected. He said it started in the back of the building, which is operated by the Texas Bolt and srew co. The freight lines had shipments in transit stored there. Wear said three trucks and five trailers were in the warehouse. They ranged from total losse to heavily damaged and were owned by all firms.
