Paul F. Hein of the Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Hermann Sons Cemetery. Mr. Gunkel was a native of Germany but came to this country and to San Antonio 50 years ago. He was a charter member of the Alamo Lodge of Hermann Sons. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ida Gunkel, 212 Mason Street; four sons, John, Chris, Herbert, and Martin Gunkel; two daughters, Mrs Van Teel and Mrs J.P. Oeffinger Jr., of San Antonio; two brothers, William and Henry Gnnkel of Luling and one sister Mrs. J. A. Otto of Ottline, Texas.
