Virginia is now wrapped in the loving arms of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. Virginia passed away on January 17, 2010. She was born to Edwin and Helena Laux on July 30, 1917 in San Antonio, Texas. Virginia is survived by her two sons, Jon and David (Robin); her grandchildren, Daniel (Julianna), Cory (Nicole), Casey (Maryanne), Rick and Amber; and her great grandchildren, Seth, Maggie, La ura, Grant, Ryan and Zoey. Virginia was the founder of Lorenzen Mortuary in Reseda, bringing comfort and compassion to thousands of families in the San Fernando Valley since 1952. She enjoyed being involved in the Reseda and Tarzana Chambers of Commerce, the San Fernando Valley Business and Professional Association, the San Fernando Valley Prayer Breakfast Association and the Fernando Award Committee. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and St. Joseph the Worker Church. Virginia was a supporter of many Republican campaigns throughout the years. She was very organized in chairing many fundraising dinners for candidates, Chambers of Commerce and the San Fernando Valley Fernando Award dinner. Virginia took delight in being with her grandchildren. When Santa left them "Pogo" sticks, Grandma was there trying to jump on one. When Santa left them a trampoline, Grandma was jumping with them. And when he left them a swing set, there was Grandma, swinging away. She leaves them a legacy of goodness and love. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Lorenzen, a former Los Angeles City Councilman. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, January 22, 2010, at Lorenzen Mission Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010, 9:30 a.m., at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park.
