It may be accessed by the security gate by prearranged permission from the Dominion Country Club Home Owners Association. There are 6 graves in the original Toepperwein Family Cemetery that are inside a fenced area. The older graves are of the 1st generation Toepperwein immigrants, Lucian Ferndinand Toepperwein and wife Marie Elizabeth Leilich and their son Whilhelm Herman Toepperwein and wife Amalie Luckenbach. This more recent grave is located outside the fenced area. Additional Comments: OBITUARY FOR WAYNE UDO TOEPPERWEIN: Mr. Wayne Udo Toepperwein August 14, 1930 - July 26, 2002 Wayne Udo Toepperwein, age 71, went to join his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 26, 2002. Born August 14, 1930 to Udo H. and Addie Hawkins Toepperwein. He graduated from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, TX, where he was a member of the 1947 State Championship football team. In 1952, he graduated from Texas A&M University, received his commission as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army, and was stationed at Ft. Sam Houston. Upon his discharge, he went into mortgage banking, working for the Richard Gill Co. for 18 years before moving to Broadway Bank as a vice-president. During this time, he was active in the San Antonio Mortgage Brokers Association and eventually served a term as president. In 1978, he started building luxury custom homes in various Northside subdivisions. He retired to Canyon Lake in 1991. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Toepperwein; two sons, the Rev. Dan Toepperwein and wife Ann, all of San Antonio; and Alan Toepperwein of Arlington, TX; three grandchildren, Alisha, Channah and Caleb Toepperwein; brother, Dale and wife Moonyne of Flatonia, TX; and sister, Jeannine Logan and husband Jerry of New Boston, TX. He also leaves several aunts and uncles, and many dear friends, some of whose friendships span 65 years. He was a native of San Antonio, TX. Mr. Wayne Udo Toepperwein August 14, 1930 - July 26, 2002 Services for Mr. Wayne Udo Toepperwein will be held, August 02, 2002, at 06:00 PM at the following locations: Christ Presbyterian Church 5440 Vance Jackson San Antonio, TX 78230 A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2002, at 2:00 P.M. at Christ Prebyterian Church with the Rev Jack Bateman officiating. Interment will be private.
