Ellen left the family when Pryor was only 2 years old and went to San Antonio where she had family. Emmitt visited her once or twice but the family had no other contact with her. It is said she left because the 1900 Storm terrified her and she did not want to live near the coast. After Ellen's departure, the rest of the family moved to central Texas where Pryor had a farm and a syrup mill. He did not remarry. The two boys married sisters, Nettie and Minnie. Emmitt lived 104 years. William died of Rocky Mountain spotted tick fever. We do not know what became of Ellen Evans or her descendants. She may have gone to San Antonio to be with her mother and grandmother. We do not know if Mary and Ellen were related. My grandmother says Pryor's wife (her grandmother) was named Anetta Parker but Emmitt's SS Application gives his mother as Ellen Black. .
