Ivy was born in Blanco, Texas on October 28, 1923 to George Ross Brown and Mary Anna Smith. Ivy was a devoted and one of a kind Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. Ivy is survived by her loving Husband M.B. Smith. They were married June 21, 1941 in Johnson City, Texas. They recently celebrated 64 wonderful years together. Mary Ivy is also survived by daughters Mary Evonne and Cecil Brooks, Sherry Levada and Paul Jenkins. She is also survived by her brother Dott and Leah Brown, sisters Rosetta Phelps, Ray and Clinton Bakke. She was a grandmother to nine, a great grandmother to 26 and Great Great Grandmother to six. She had so much love and was loved so much. Fond memories of Mama, Ivy, Grandma, MeMe, and Granny are meals that would feed her family times 10, her love for gardening, sewn patches on jeans, “her” peach tree, “her” cow, homemade ice cream, beautiful zinnias, her fruitcake, the endless love for all those she knew and of course, her broom and dust pan. There are no words to describe this special woman. The strength, energy, wisdom and caring she brought to so many lives is a cherished gift to all. We love you our special guardian angel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sandy Cemetery or the charity of your choice. Services 2 p.m. Wednesday, First Baptist Church, Johnson City. Burial Sandy Cemetery, Johnson City.
