Bosque Co., TX - Cemeteries - Morgan Cemetery *********************************************** This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Bosque County Mail List Copyright. All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgenwebarchives.org *********************************************** For Photos or more info, go to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txbosqu2/Contents/MorganCem.html Located about two miles south of the town on the old Morgan-Meridian Road. First burials here were about 1880, after the railroads came in. Local residents say the WHITE family gave the first land. The first deed record found was 1908 when William Andrew gave a tract "south of the original graveyard". A Cemetery Association keeps it in order. Three entrances on the front or south, labeled East, Center, and West Drives divide the cemetery into four plots. These are called, from the right, Section I, Section II, Section III, and Section IV. The portion at the very back, or north, is called Section V. Photo from cemeteryof Morgan, TX--The road you see going over the hill in the middle of the photo is hiway 174. That is the main road thru Morgan. There is a "cemetery" sign pointing to the county road to take. The road runs over the railroad track (see the train in the picture) and a creek (I'm not sure of the name). It's a rather large creek although it's dry right now like everything in Texas. Right after you cross the creek the cemetery is to the right. There is a fenced area in front of the main part of the cemetery, so the main part is to the right again. There are three graveled roads through the cemetery.
