R. W. Rodgers, earlier mentioned, now one of the leading members of the
Texarkana Bar, just a little may be noted. His father was R. W. Rodgers, the
first mayor of the Gate City, and he came with his parents to Texarkana in 1874,
when a lad of seven years, having been born in Jefferson, Texas, September 30,
1867.

He attended the local schools, and in 1887-88, he studied law in the office of
Todd & Hudgins, and was admitted to the Bar in March, 1889, and since which
time, has given his mind and thought to the practice of his profession.

In 1897, Mr. Rodgers was elected City Attorney, serving three terms - six years,
and proudly boasts, that it was his first and only offense of office-holding.
Rollin Rodgers is justly popular- both as a splendid gentleman and an able,
dependable attorney; has lived in Texarkana nearly all of his life, where he has
a beautiful home, and a well equipped law office with always a large legal
practice.
