Morgan Chapel Methodist Church... This Church was built very close to the Moores Chapel Presbyterian Church on Richmond Road in 1908 and was named for the first Pastor Rev. Ed Morgan. He was Pastor until 1912. He had a son Beck Morgan and a daughter who is Mrs.Claude Clemens. Another preacher was a Brother Lenox, one in 1920 was Brother Ogle Carpenter. The Church was disbanded and torn down about 1945 and absorbed by Wood St. Methodist Church in Texarkana. Then Wood St. Church was absorbed by St. Lukes Methodist Church . Some of the members were: Charlie Ward (who married Clara Ames)... Mrs. W. W. Ames (Emma), and some of her children: Clara, Hazel and Bertha...Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Liard, and daughters, Mina and Ruth....Mrs. Paul Mitchell (Martine Earp)...Mrs Tom Moores(Zula Shaw)...Miss Ellen E. Holmes and sister Miss Sudie Holmes...Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Pinkerton and children Claude and Betty (later Mrs. J.H. Moores,Sr.)...Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jerone Hinkley...Jack Reeves...Margaret Moores...Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Murray and children: Velma, James, Avery...Mrs. W. L. Wright,Sr....Mr and Mrs R.
