At the time, there was a store and post office at Lenox Hill.  
Miss Ruth McDougald from New Boston was Post Master, Harry Brine
mail carrier.  Mr. Brine made two trips weekly riding a mule from
Lenox Hill to DeKalb.  He was paid by the amount of mail he 
carried making on some days all of fifty cents.
