Minutes of Bowie Co. School Board Meeting....May 5, 1951

The Bowie County School Board met in regular session on May 5, 1951 
in the office of the County Supt. of Schools, Boston, Texas with the 
following present. Norman Moser, Chairman....W.S. Crumpton, T.D. Autrey, 
J. E. Pickens, M. M. Tidwell and Ben Fort, Ex officio Secretary.

At this meeting the boundary lines of Pleasant Grove Common Consolidated 
School District No. 42 was redefined and re-established to include the 
territory which formerly comprised the Rosborough Common School District. 
No. 43.  The fieldnotes of Pleasant Grove Common Consolidated School 
District No. 42 are as follows:

Beginning at the N.E. Corner of the W.W. Wooten H.R. Survey, the the N. E. 
corner of Bowie Co., Tx. (the N. E. Corner of the State of Texas).  Then 
South with line between the State of Texas and Arkansas, the East line of 
the Wooten Survey, 2468 Varas to the S.E. corner of the said Wooten H. R. 
Survey, being the N. E. Corner of the Texas Independent School Dist.  
Thence, with the North line of the Texarkana Independent  School Dist., 
West 672 Varas to the East line of the J. T. Watson Survey, South 806 Varas 
to the Watson S.E. corner, West 920 Varas to the Watson S. West corner, 
North 742 Varas to the Weaterly N. E. corner of the William Burnside Survey, 
the most Northerly, N.West corner of the Texarkana Independent Dist.  
Thence with the West line of the Tex. Ind. Dist, South 2019 Varas to the 
S.W. corner of the Burnside Survey on the North line of the W. H. Moores 
Survey, West 215 Varas to the N.W. corner of the Moores Survey on the North 
line of the John W. Lane Survey, West 331 Varas to Lanes' N.W. corner, South 
1920 Varas to the S.W. corner of the said Lane Survey, on the N. line of 
section No.11, East 140 Varas, South across said section No. 11, 1000 Varas 
to the N. line of the J. H. Goffe Survey, East 195.5 Varas to the N.E. corner 
of the Goffe survey, South 2040 Varas to the N. E. corner of the Benjamin Nix 
Survey, the Northerly S.E. corner of the A. Hope Survey.  Thence West with the 
North line of the Texarkana School District, 2260 Varas to the Tex. and 
Richmond Road. Thense N. 39 degrees West with the road 348 Varas. Thence W. 
564 Varas to the N.W. corner of the Texarkana District.  Thence N. 408 Varas 
to the N. line of the old Claude Cooper place, the N.W. corner of the Nash 
Independent School District.  Thence with the N. line of the Nash Dist., 
south 88 degrees.West 1942 Varas, South 81 degrees, W. 605 Varas, N. 285 
Varas to the S. E. corner of the W.C. Merdith place; W. 2016 Varas to 
W. G. Norton's S.W. corner; North with Norton's West line 638 Varas to the 
East boundary line of the Massock H. Janes Survey, the most Northerly corner 
of the Nash Independent School District, in the East Boundary line of the 
Red Lick School Dist. No. 10.  Thence with the Red Lick School District Line 
North 60 degrees; East 119 Varas to a corner of the M. H. Janes Survey; North  
with the East boundary line of Janes Suryey 2610  Varas to the N.E. corner of 
same;  North 78 1\2 degrees West, with the North line of the said Janes Survey, 
2069 Varas; North 83 degrees, West 1439 Varas to the North West corner of 
the Janes Survey on Barkman Creek; in the East bouondary line of the Ashley 
Mckinney Survey, with Barkman Creek; South 73 degrees with 843 Varas; Sluth 
83 degrees West 813 Varas; North 84 degrees, West 1174 Varas to the North 
East corner of Learty School District. No. 67.  Thence with the North line 
of the said Leary Dist.; North 83 degrees, West 900 Varas; to the corner of 
the John Barkman Survey and L. corner of the John Barkman Survey and L. corner 
of the Mary Morris Survey; West with the North line of the Morris Survey1180 
Varas to a N.W. corner of same, a corner of the John Barkman Survey; Thence 
North with the West line of the William C. McKinney Survey 6049 Varas to the 
south bank of the Red River.
Thence down the Red River with its meanders to the point of beginning, and 
being 61 1\4 square miles in area.
No further business, the meeting adjourned.
