Daughter of Benjamin Franklin Young (1810-63) and Ann Peters (b. 1819), his wife, m. 1840. Granddaughter of William Young and Mary Salmon, his wife. William Young (1759-1826) enlisted as private in Sumter's brigade and rose to the rank of captain in the cavalry. He was born in Virginia; died in Greenville County, S. C. Iss Ida Rosamond. - DAR ID Number: 61180 - Vol 62 - Page 64 Born in Greenville, S. C. Descendant of Capt. William Young, of South Carolina. Daughter of William Nathaniel Rosamond and Nancy Caroline Westmoreland, his wife. Granddaughter of James B. Rosamond and Emily Young, his wife. Gr-granddaughter of William Young and Mary Salmon, his wife. William Young (1759-1826) enlisted at sixteen and served to the close of the war in Sumpter's brigade. He was at Briar Creek, Stono, Musgrove Mills, Cowpens, and Kings Mountain; was wounded at the siege of Augusta and rose to the rank of captain of cavalry. He subsequently gave valuable service. He died in Greenville County, S. C., and is buried at "Stone House," where the tombstone gives his record
