Ferguson on College Hill had a delightful social last night in their elegant home. John Ragan of Kingsland, Ark., who was found in a sick condition by officers Lawler & Williams, Sunday afternoon, and carried to the Bowie county court house, died last night. Col. John H. Trigg, the agent of the broad gauge roads here, cut his foot severely, on Sunday afternoon, while swimming, on a piece of glass. W. T. Hudgins at Mathews Mill, is a candidate from the 17th representative district of Texas. Miss Mamie Rosborough is still visiting friends in Paris. John Willingham, Deputy marshal of Prescott, was in the city today. Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Allen went down to Queen City on a short visit this morning. Rev. Charles Goldberg has returned from Lodi, and is, we regret to see, quite feeble. Mrs. Shakelford, mother of Mrs. J. W. Ronen of this city, has returned to her home at Sherman. Bro.
