Tunnard returned from Shreveport last night. We sympathize with him upon the death of his little grandson, which occurred on Tuesday, last. - Mr. Ed Schicker and children, accompanied by Miss Julia Schuster, returned last night from a visit to Clark and Howard Counties. - Henry Hirsh of Vicksburg, comes to our city and connects himself with J. C. Herold, in the railroad ticket business. - Mrs. Geo. Rector of Nashville, Ark., came down last night, and is a guest of Dr. Hawkins and family. - Sorry, Mr. McNealy, our clever jeweler, is on the sick list. - A letter from Judge Mitchel, still at Washington, reports his brother worse. - Jo Cella and family left this morning on a trip to Will's Point, Texas, to see his father. - Capt. J. S. Knox went to St. Louis last night, his little daughter being much better. * Tuesday, July 20, 1886 -Washington County will have a big Confederate Reunion at Prairie Grove on august 18 and 19th. -Professor CURR, of Millersburg (KY) Female institute, is in the city, and informs us that quite a number of pupils from this city will attend his school next session. -We erred yesterday when we printed that Ed ROBBINS was nominated last Saturday by the Democrats of Garland township for Constable. It was Geroge ROBBINS, the present incumbent. Ed is "whooping it up" for County Clerk of Bowie County. -We are authorized to announce that GEORGE W. EDWARDS is a candidate for Sheriff of Bowie County. -Senator JONES, of Arkansas, has purchased a residence in Washington City. (This add ran in the last issue also.) -Mr. Reilly, manager of the opera house, tells us that Miss Nona Weiderman, of Washington, Ark., will give our citizens one of her rare musical entertainment's during the month of October. She has studied in Europe a number of years, under the most noted musicians of the world. She is a native of Washington, Arkansas. - Stuart Warren left yesterday evening for a drumming cruise up the St. L. A. & T. Railroad. - It is rumored that Harry May, the Jewish evangelist, is to be in Texarkana, before long. - MARRIED: At the residence of Charles Harper, July 19, Mr. J. W. Davis, of this county, to Miss Bessie Benson, of Hope, Arkansas. - Capt. Hatfield left this afternoon for Lewisville, where he goes to draft plans for a new courthouse. - N. A. McNealy left this morning for Dalby Springs, and during his absence, Rev. Dr. Bechtel will have charge of the business. - Mrs. C. M. Reeves is still at Palestine, and the "Old Man" looks as "sour as a pickle". - W. D.
