Obit: Bowie Co Texas - GLEANDELL BARTON  November 22,2000


             Gleandell Barton 69,of Hooks,Texas died Wednesday November 22,2000
             in a local hospital.  Mr. Barton was born April 24,1931 in Linden,Texas, and
             had lived in Hooks for 43 years.  He was retired from Red River Army Depot,
             was a member of Beverly Heights Church of Christ in Hooks, and was a US
             Army veteran, serving in the  Korean War.  Survivors include two daughters,
             Lajan Heard of Ozark,Ark; and Lynn Merrill of Maud,Texas;  three sons, 
             Randall Barton and Kent Barton of Hooks; and Richard Barton of Redwater,
             Texas;  and eight grandchildren.  Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday
             in Clark Cemetery,Daingerfield,Texas with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating under
             direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.
