Obituary for Lucille Clements DeFee 3 January 1915 - 14 March 2001 Alexandria, Rapides Parish, Louisiana Alexandria, La. Lucille Clements DeFee, of Alexandria, died Wednesday March 14, 2001, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. Mrs. DeFee was retired librarian for the Rapides Parish Library system. She worked at the Community Center and the MacArthur Drive branch. She was Past Worthy Matron of J.T. Charnley Chapter no. 197, O.E.S., Alexandria and was a member of the 20th Century Book Club. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Alexandria and the Frances Lanier Sunday School class. She is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Brumley. Survivors include her husband, William Jackson DeFee Jr. of Alexandria, two sons, Dr. William J. DeFee III and John Clements DeFee, both of Alexandria; one daughter, Major Janet DeFee Brumley of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; one sister Mrs. Wilton Clements Graves of Nashville, Ark; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2001 at First United Methodist Church, Alexandria with Rev. Lys Cockrell officiating. Private burial under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 2727 Jackson St., Alexandria, La.,71301 or to the friends of the Rapides Parish Library, 411 Washington St., Alexandria, La. 71301.
