J. T. Dempsey, Obituary - Bowie County Tx. > Texarkana

Funeral services for J. T. Dempsey, former deputy constable for precinct one,
Bowie County, who was killed early Tuesday morning near Winnfield, La.,
will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from the East Funeral Home, with the Rev.
William A. Casseday. pastor of the Pine Street Presbyterian church officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lena Dempsey and a step son, Billy Joe Ballard
both of Texarkana, two sons, Edward Dempsey and Paul, both of Wright City,
Okla., and five daughters, Mrs. Edna Jefferson of Blakely, Ark., Mrs. Electa 
Grammer and Miss Lois Dempsey, both of Wright City, Okla., and Mrs. Lucille
Hunnicut and Miss Lois Dempsey, both of Marlin, Texas.

Active pallbearers will be William B. Culberson, H. F. Holden, W. B. Rochelle,
G. H. Brooks, Dr. A. L. Peterson, Louis Harland, Walter Nichols, and the
 Rev. W. L. Hickman.

Honorary pallbearers will be A. Brown, Dr. J. N. White, Orin Rehkopf, J. H. Cole,
J. U. Nichols, P. K. Browning, the Rev. E. D. Browning, C. R. Pilkington, 
Pete Hayes, Delmar Wyatt, J. F. Meadows, Will Steel, Rollin Rodgers, Sr.,
Rollin Rodgers, Jr., Tommy Elliott, J. A. Still, Allen Brooks, Harry Monsarrat,
S. H. Ball, T. J. Sheffield, and C. C. Bizell.
