Robert Giddens Services for Robert Giddens, 73, of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lyons Chapel Baptist Church with Wendall Davis officiating. Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery under direction of Ossie Curry Funeral Home. He died Friday, June 4, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Red River County. He married Theolia Dockins on Nov. 27, 1948, in Bowie County. He was a member of Lyons Chapel Baptist Church, Disabled Veterans and Masonic Lodge. He also served in the United States Navy. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Robert of Lubbock, Carl of Amarillo, Charles of Jacksonville and Rickey of Arlington; three daughters, Lela Fletcher of Arlington, Sherry Wheeler of Lubbock and Rhonda Giddens of Grand Prairie; four brothers, Willie Giddens of Idabell, Okla., Ray Giddens of DeKalb, Frank Giddens of Odessa and Eddie Joe Giddens of Lithonia, Ga.; two sisters, Katherine Stroud of Lubbock and Florida Bell Woodard of Big Spring; and seven grandchildren.
