Emily Spencer Lesher 56,of Redwater, Texas died Sunday August 31,2003.

Ms. Lesher was born March 6,1947 in Texarkana, Texas.   She was the first 
mayor of Redwater, a Democratic Party of Texas Delegate, a member of Redwater 
United Methodist Church, Redwater City Council and Adeline Vines Garden Club and
was involved with Women for the Arts, American Cancer Society and the Humane 
Society.    

Survivors include two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Baxter and Candice Lesher 
of Texarkana; and Clayton and Elizabeth Lesher of Dallas, Texas; One stepdaughter 
and stepson-in-law, Brandy and Jason Treadway of Dallas; one special uncle, Carrol 
Spencer of Redwater; one special aunt, Ruth Goodson of Redwater; two special cousins, 
Steve Sharp of Texarkana; and Shane Spencer of Redwater; and a number of other 
relatives. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel 
with the Rev. Ronnie Pipes officiating.   Private burial will be in Redwater Cemetery.   
Visitation will be after the services.
