NEW BOSTON, Texas-David Elton Merriman, 65, of Hooks, Texas, died Sunday, Dec. 
10, 2006, at his  home.

Mr. Merriman was born June 29, 1941, in Bowie County, Texas. He was a Baptist. 
He was preceded in death by one son, David Dewayne Merriman.

Survivors include his wife, Seaira Sue Merriman of Hooks; two sons, Stan 
Merriman and John Merriman of New Boston; one daughter, Lauraenda Merriman of 
New Boston; two sisters, Melba Harrison of Rocky Point, Ohio, and Helen Whitley 
of DeKalb, Texas; one brother, Melvin Merriman of Hooks; five grandchildren; 
one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Read Hill Cemetery. Burial will be 
under direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
