NEW BOSTON, Texas-Marland McGee Old, 81, of New Boston died Monday, Nov. 3, 
2008, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Old was born Oct. 25, 1927, in New Boston. He was a communications tech 
with AT&T, a member of the Amature Radio Club, AARL Radio Communication and 
Tapp United Methodist Church and a World War II Army Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Old of New Boston; two sons and one daughter-
in-law, David Clay Old of New Boston and Gary and Nell Old of Texarkana; two 
grandchildren, Travis Windle Old and Mary Katherine Old of Texarkana; one 
sister-in-law, Ruby Old of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Read Hill Cemetery with the 
Rev. Gary Bagley officiating. Burial will be under direction of Bates-Rolf 
Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. 
Memorials may be made to Tapp United Methodist Building Fund of Read Hill 
Cemetery Association. Online registration is at
