NEW BOSTON, Texas-Lorna Jean Rankin, 61, of DeKalb, Texas, died Friday, July 4, 
2008, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Rankin was born Oct. 6, 1946, in Youngsville, N.Y. She was a homemaker and 
a member of Godley Prairie Community Church. Survivors include her husband, 
Paul Rankin of DeKalb; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Jodi Haty of 
Rochester, N.Y., and Christopher Rivenburg and Brandi Gossett of New Boston; 
three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deidra and Juan Medina of Liberty, N.Y., 
Francine Gesvantner of Dallas and Georgina and Michael Akins of DeKalb; one 
sister, Helen Adams Karkkainen; nine grandchildren; and a number of other 
relatives.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Read Hill Cemetery with Gerald 
Rankin officiating. Burial will be under direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home. 
Visitation will be 6 p.m. o 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be 
made to American Cancer Society, 5501 Plaza Drive, Texarkana, TX 75503.
