Carroll Murray Spencer 79,of Texarkana, Texas died Tuesday October 14,2003 in a local 
nursing home. Mr. Spencer was born May 9,1924 in Redwater, Texas. He was retired from 
International Paper Mill, a member and deacon of Buchanan First Baptist Church and a 
Navy veteran. He was preceaded in death by one son, Billy Carroll Spencer, on September 
25,1984. 

Survivors include his wife, Edna Louise Spencer of Texarkana; one son, Dennis Spencer 
of Texarkana; two daughters and sons-in-law, Belinda and Ronnie Braley of Texarkana; 
and Patti and Phil Smith of Longview, Texas; one sister, Melba Allen of Houston, Texas; 
six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other 
relatives. Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with the 
Rev. Don Brazile officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation 
will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
