Henderson, Texas-- Emil Spencer, 95, of Henderson died Tuesday in a Sulphur 
Springs, Texas hospital following a lengthy illness.  Services will be 11:30 
a.m. today at Texarkana Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Schadlemmer 
officiating.  Burial will be in Redwater Cemetery, Redwater, Texas.  Mr. 
Spencer was born Jan. 10, 1887, at Water Valley, Miss., and had lived in 
Henderson for two years, moving from Tyler, Texas.  He was a retired employee 
of Wadel-Conley Hardware Company where he worked for 54 years.  He was a 
member of First Christian Church in Tatum, Texas, the Maud Masonic Lodge of 
Maud, Texas and Woodman of the World.  Survivors include one son, Travis W. 
Spencer of Sulphur Springs; one daughter, Juanita Webb of Henderson; three 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
