Obit: Bowie Co Texas - JOHN THORNHILL


             Lt. Col. John Richard Thornhill 66,of Maud,Texas died Monday
             October 22,2001 at his home.  Mr. Thornhill was born November 12,1934
             in Humnoke,Ark.  He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years
             and a member of First Baptist Church,Redwater,Texas.  Survivors include
             his wife,Sylvia Thornhill of Maud; two sons and daughters-in-law,Brett
             and Joanna Thornhill of Alamogordon,N.M.; and Scott and Renee Thornhill
             of Livingston,TN; his mother,Bonnie Thornhill of Maud; three sisters,
             Paulette Walker of Maud; Wilma McElroy of Texarkana,Texas; and Linda
             Willett of Red Lick,Texas; three grandchildren,Addie Beth, Catie and        
             Gracie Thornhill all of Alamogordon; and a number of nieces and nephews.
             Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church,Redwater with the
             Rev. Steve Rice officiating.  Burial will be in Redwater Cemetery with Full
             Military honors under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.  The family
             will be at their home, County Road 1107,Maud,Texas.
