Obit: Bowie Co Texas -  MABEL WILLIAMS


                   Mabel Leona Williams 86,of Texarkana,Texas died Wednesday July 
                    31,1974 in a local nursing home.  Mrs. Williams was born July 2,1888
                   in Baton Rouge,La.  She was a retired schoolteacher and a member of
                   Chapelwood United Methodist Church.  She was preceaded in death
                   by her husband,Henry Loyd Williams,on July 29,1971, and her only
                   daughter,Mary "Loretta" Williams,on August 5,1973.  Survivors include
                   one son and daughter-in-law,James and Mary Williams of Commerce,
                   Texas; two grandchildren, Jimmy Williams of Texarkana; and J.C.
                   Williams of Charleston,S.C; four great-grandchildren; and a nephew,
                   Robert Williams of Jefferson,Texas.  Services will be 2:30 p.m.
                   Saturday at Chapelwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doyle
                   West officiating.  Burial will be in Rock Springs Cemetery under 
                   direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.  The family will be at Mrs. 
                   Williams' residence on Bowie Street in Texarkana.
