Glenn Hunt was a dedicated Christian man. He had previously expressed two wishes for his funeral. One, that his favorite hymn, Near the Cross, be sung. Second, that the plan of salvation (the way to Heaven) be presented. Both of these were done at his memorial service. Upon the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, Glenn Hunt volunteered for the military. He wanted to be a pilot. Because he was color-blind, he could not serve as a pilot. Instead, he worked on military planes in Del Rio, TX. Hunt was well known in Lake Jackson. As a businessman he was known for his honesty and integrity. Glenn and Eddie Mae were married for 65 years. The family expressed a special thank you to the folks at Village on the Creek and to his special sister-in-law, Delphia Jackson, for all the loving care they gave Mr. Hunt and his family during his illness. At the Memorial Service Mike Mills sang Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, and led those in attendance in the hymn Near the Cross. A family member, as well as the minister, presented the plan of salvation. The American Legion presented the flag to Mrs. Eddie Mae Hunt. David R. Brumbelow is a relative. Eddie Mae (Lee) Hunt was the sister of David’s uncle, Laurence Lee. Laurence Lee was married to David’s mother’s sister, Delphia (Galyean) Lee Jackson. After Laurence Lee’s death in a car accident, Delphia married Richard (Dick) Jackson. David’s dad, Rev. Joe Brumbelow, preached Henry Lee’s (Eddie Mae’s brother) funeral at the end of 1994. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” -John 3:16; The Bible. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation…For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” -Romans 10:9,10,13; The Bible For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. -1 Thessalonians 5:9-10; The Bible -submitted by David R.
