B. Knape, 73, a resident of Alvin since 1907. Rev. Geo. W. Springfield officiated. Burial was in the Confederate cemetery under the direction of Froberg Funeral Home. Mrs. Knape passed away at 9:20 o'clock Wednesday morning after a long illness. Pallbearers were six grandchildren, Billy Smith, Harold Knape, Thurman Tullis, Dennis Tullis, Joe Smith and Jesse Smith. Mrs. Knape was born in Oklahoma, Nov. 27, 1868. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mint Shockey of Arizona, one brother, Joe Burnam of Sherman; five daughters, Mrs. C.M. Gugs of Kirkland, Wash., Mrs. J.T. Hinkle of Brazoria; Mrs. W.H. Smith of Rosharon, Mrs. H.D. Tullis of Houston, and Mrs. D. D. Clark of Alvin; four sons, Bennie Knape of Houston, Joe Carl and Otto Knape of Alvin; 28 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
