Mr. Parker was fishing with his brother-in-law, J.B. Junell, and S.C. Cottle, both employees of the Houston Bus company. The fishing boat capsized, and the man clung to it for about three hours. After becoming exhausted, Mr. Parker lost his hold. His companions soon rescued him, but Mr. Parker never revived. The party was rescued after it managed to reach a shell reef. An inquest verdict of accidental drowning was returned by Justice of the Peace William Burhart, of Alvin (Texas). Mr. Parker is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bessie Mae Parker, and a son, Richard, of Houston; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Parker of Pittsburg, Texas; four brothers, Hooper, Thurman and Beryl of Pittsburg and Orville Parker of Gladewater. Funeral services were held in Pittsburg (Texas) Sunday.
