My paternal great grandfather: Jerome Smith, born 1829 in Ohio; Died 5 Jan 
1890 in Holder, Brown County, Texas.

Additional Comments:
Jerome taught in the first public schools of the State of Texas. He arrived in 
Texas around 1854 and lived in Bastrop County where he was a school teacher. 
Later, he lived in Wise, Denton, and Brown Counties. This photo provided by 
the Smith Family of Texas.
