At Cooks Point, turn left (or north) on county road 216, which promptly turns east again. County road 217 turns north (or left) off of CR216 soon after this turn. Drive about 1.5 miles down CR217. It will cross a cattle guard and become a dirt road. The cemetery is located on the left-hand side of the lane, with a chain link fence around it. It is in the middle of a group of trees and is on a hill. Descendants of some of those buried there are keeping the cemetery looking very nice.Inside the fence, next to the gate is a very large granite monument, which was erected by the Worthington - Wallin families in 1991. The inscription on the monument reads:"CARR CEMETERY founded December 19, 1861.In memory of Jane Worthington - Elston - Carr - Broaddus, second wife of Allen Carr, who donated land for a cemetery where family and neighbors of the pioneer settlement of Cooks Point, Texas could be interred.Among those beloved buried here are Judge Andrew S. Broaddus, Jane Worthington - Elston - Carr - Broaddus, Allen Carr and their son, David Worthington Carr." Entering the cemetery, going to the far southwest corner, the tombstones were read to the front, on one half, then the other half. Some may not be in sequence.
