There was once a school on the same grounds. It was first called Germania School, until the war, when the name was then changed to Liberty School. The land for the school, etc. was donated by Louise (Holtz Herrmann Rosenkranz) Kramer and her third husband, Andrew Kramer. Louise was the second wife of Andrew, his first wife, also named Louise died in 1901. The first Louise Kramer is buried in the Elizabeth Lutheran Cemetery. Andrew Kramer was a confederate veteran. This cemetery is located approximately 4 miles east of Caldwell, Texas on Highway 21. It is on the right side of the highway, near the Cooks Point Methodist Church. There is a cemetery behind the church. It is called Cooks Point Methodist Cemetery, also called the German Methodist Cemetery. Kramer Cemetery is across the lane from it, toward the east. There is one single grave, close to the entrance of the lane, between the two cemeteries. It is the grave of Willie Pape, Jan. 6. 1861 - Dec. 5, 1907. Mr. Pape committed suicide. The story goes, no one wanted him buried in their graveyard, therefore he is by himself.
