To all to whom these presents shall come, Know ye, I Geo.T Wood, Governor of the State aforesaid by virtue of the power vested in me by law and in accordance with the laws of said state in such case made and provide do by these presents grant to Henry Cook, his heirs or assignees forever One Labor of land situated and described as follows, in the Milam District, Burleson County, on the western waters of the Yegua, about 12 miles above the Old San Antonio Road by virtue of the Headright certificate No. 207 issued in 1838 and confirmed by the District Court of Washington County at the Fall term, 1847. Beginning at the most northern N.W. Corner of P.Prator's survey, a Black Jack in prairie- Thence North 71? one thousand varas to a stake for the S.E. corner of this survey from which a Black Jack bears South 81? West 7 varas another bears North 9 degrees West 9 varas- Thence 19 ? West at 723 varas said Prator's N.W. corner one thousand varas to a stake from which a Post Oak bears South 75 ? West 7 varas another bears North 26 ? east 11 varas- Thence South 71? West one thousand varas to a stake from which a Black Jack bears North 62? East 3 varas another bears South 27? West 2 varas- Thence 19? East one thousand varas to the place of beginning. Hereby relinquishing to him the said Henry Cook and his heirs or assigns forever all the rights and title in and to said land heretofore held and possessed by the said state and I do hereby issue this letter Patent for the same. In testimony where of I have caused the seal of the State to be affixed as well as the seal of the General Land Office -Done at the City of Austin on the twenty eight day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine.
