W. Neely of Yellow Prairie died August 1. He had been confined to bed 7- 8 weeks with kidney disease. Dr. Neeley was born in GA, March 27, 1828, raised in Coweta County near Newman. He professed religion in 1847 at Jones Camp, joining the M.E. Church. He married Miss Julia Ann May on August 28, 1849 in Fayette, GA. He attended medical school in Augusta, 1851-52, Atlanta in 1855, from which he held his diploma. He moved to Texas in 1856, settled at Union Hall, near where Barton is now. In 1865, he moved to Plantersville, until 1885 when he moved to Ledbetter, Fayette County, where his first wife died December 1, 1889. Of this union there are 2 children left, Frank Neely, of Hubbard and a daughter, Mrs. Ada Meyers of St Louis, Missouri. Dr. Neely was married the second time to Mrs. Annie Morgan on March 1, 1891 at Ledbetter. They moved to Burleson County in 1895, where he resided until his death. Besides the 2 children mentioned, he leaves his wife and 2 small children. He was buried in cemetery at Yellow Prairie. MAY & Mary Ann "Polly" BRIDGES, on 28 Aug 1849 in Fayette County GA, and (2) Mrs Annie MORGAN on 1 March 1891 in Ledbetter TX.
