Estes is entitled to have surveyed by any legally authorized Surveyor, upon any of the vacant, unreserved and unappropriated public domain of the State of Texas, Twelve Hundred and Eighty Acres of Land in accordance with the provisions of an act entitled "An act granting to persons who have been permanently disabled by reason of wounds received while in the service of this State, or of the Confederate States, a land certificate for Twelve Hundred and Eighty Acres of Land," approved April 9, 1881, said M.J. Estes having made the proof required by said act. A like amount of land shall be located by virtue of this Certificate for the benefit of the permanent School Fund, before either location shall be patented, and both locations shall be made upon any of the Public Domain of Texas not reserved by law from location. THE STATE OF TEXAS County of Burnet Before the Commissioner's Court of the county aforesaid personally appeared Mrs. M.J. Estes the widow of Jas M. Estes to us well known, who, being first duly sworn, says: 1. That she was a bona fide resident of this State at the date of the passage of this law, and is now a resident citizen of this State, and so was her husband a resident citizen of this State when he Jas M. Estes, enlisted in the military service of the Confederate States in the late war between the States of the United States. 2. That her said husband died in actual service under such enlistment. 3. And that she is unmarried and has always been unmarried since the death of her husband. 4. And that she has not property of the value of one thousand dollars. Also at the same time before us personally came Jos. R. Benson and H.D. Bowman, credible persons, and to us well known, who, being duly sworn, depose and say that they know Mrs. M.J. Estes the first affiant, and that she is the identical person she represents herself to be, and that the facts stated by her are true, and that she is entitled to a land certificate under the provisions of said act. Estes of the State of Texas and County of Burnet in consideration of Thirty Dollars to me paid by Aaron Rickerson of said State and County have granted bargained sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and transfer to said Aaron Rickeson One Hundred and Fifty Acres of Confederate Scrip No. 1404 issued to me by W.C. Walsh Com'r Gen. Land Office on the 30th day of November 1881 and that I will forever warrant and defend the title to said One Hundred and Fifty acres of said Certificate against the claims of every person lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. Estes Survey No. 131 containing 150 acres of land Located by virtue of Confederate Scrip No. 1404 situated in Burnet County, Texas, about 12-1/2 miles S55 W from the Town of Burnet.
