No. 150, passed by the Forty-second Legislature at its Regular Session and all other laws of this State relating thereto: I am a widow of A.C. BOATMAN, deceased, who departed this life on the 1st day of February, A. D. 1911,in the county of Stephens, in the State of Oklahoma. I have not remarried since the death of my said husband*or in case of remarriage that I am now a widow); and I do solemnly swear that I was never divorced from my said husband, A.C. BOATMAN and that I never voluntarily abandoned him during his life, but remained his true, faithful lawful wife up to the date of his death. I was married to him on the 15th day of January AD. 1865 in the county of Nacogdoches, in the State of Texas. My husband, the said A.C. BOATMAN, served as a Confederate soldier (or sailor) in the War Between the States of the United States; or (that he was a soldier who, under special laws of the State of Texas during said war served in organizations for the protection of the frontier against Indian raiders or Mexican marauders); or (that he was a soldier of the militia of the State of ___ who was in active service during said war.) That my said husband served honorably from the date of his enlistment until the close of the war.) That my said husband served honorably from the date of his enlistment until the close of the war. (or until he was discharged or paroled in some military organization regularly mustered into the army or navy of the Confederate States until the surrender). Bible County of Runnels } Do hereby certify that I am the person to whom is entrusted the paying of the accounts and indebtedness of the Mrs. Poly Boatman, who was a pensioner of the State of Texas, and whose file number were 50603 and whose original county was Burnet. The said pensioner Mrs. Polly Boatman died on the 16th day of July, 1934, in the town of Norton, Tex, County of Runnels, Texas. The pensioner died in the home of B.F. Bibles, who were related to the pensioner as son-in-law. That the warrant, which application is hereby made for, shall be applied to paying all or part of the funeral expenses incurred by the said pensioner Mrs. Polly Boatman. I further certify that the pensioner, in the best of my knowledge and belief, has not cashed the warrant for the current quarter. Jennings, do certify that I am undertaker in the town of Ballinger, County of Runnels, State of Texas, that I had charge of the body of Mrs. Polly Boatman, who died in the town of Norton, County of Runnels, State of Texas, on the 16th day of July, 1934. That said body was prepared for burial by me on the 16th day of July, 1934, and that I am of the opinion that warrant herein applied for should be issued to the said Mrs. Nancy C. Mitchell, do certify that I am a practicing physician, and that I attended Mrs. Polly Boatman, in her last illness, and am of the opinion that her ailments were Rosacea Hyptrophicia. I further certify that I am of the opinion that the Mortuary Warrant above requested should be issued in the name of the aforementioned applicant, in accordance with Act passed by the Thirty-eighth Legislature and approved March 2, 1923. Boatman, deceased, and his wife Polly Boatman, has asked us to ascertain whether his grand-mother is entitled to a pension, as widow of a Confederate soldier in the Civil War, and if, the method to pursue on having same allowed and paid A.C. Boatman, who was a confederate soldier, died in 1911, he was a pensioner, and the number of his certificate being 8911, at the time the pension was allowed he was a resident of Jack County, Texas. His widow, Mrs. Polly Boatman lives at Marble Falls, Texas. Will appreciate it if you will advise us in this matter, and send us the necessary application to be made by Mrs. Boatman.
