He was wounded going home by a sniper and his left arm was bent the remainder of his life. He was on the 1880 Census in Burnet Co., at Oatmeal. He died in 1905 in Erath County, Texas. However, his son, Phillip Shilo True, lived on the Oatmeal farm until his death in 1951. George Washington Harris was a 1st Lieutenant in the Lone Star Guards, organized January 8, 1861 in Burnet County, Texas. (From Burnet County, Texas History) He came to Burnet in 1858 from Missouri and lived in the Oatmeal Community until his death in 1905. His farm and the True farm adjoined and his granddaughter Sarah married Phillip True. Phil and Sarah were my grandparents. Bonnie Reach, Alba, Texas
