Mrs. Dave Barton of Burnet passed another important milestone in her life by

celebrating her 94th birthday on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1976.



Mrs. Barton, the former Eva Mitcheltree, was born in Burnet County Feb. 3, 1881. 

Her mother, Mrs. Seleta Williams Mitcheltree, better known as as "Granny Mitcheltree" 

to the oldtimers around Burnet, was a well-known figure in early days.



In 1918 the former Eva Mitcheltree was united in marriage with the late Mr. Dave Barton. 

Their two children are Mrs. Olan (Birdie) Pafford and Miss Seleta Barton, both of whom 

reside in Burnet.



A birthday dinner for Mrs. Barton was posponed until today (Feb. 7) at which time her 

children and grandchildren can be present for the occasion. A grandson, Jerry Pafford, 

who is 21, and a great-grandson John David Pollard, both have the same birth date as 

Mrs. Barton. A granddaughter, Shirley Pollard, is also celebrating her birthday today.



Mrs. Barton stated that she had been a subscriber to The Burnet Bulletin since 1902, 

and that she would be in to see us next year when she will be 95.
