D. V. McLean, an old citizen. Mr. McLean was born in Tennessee in October, 1826. He lived in Mississippi for some time, enlisting in the Mexican war from there. In 1854 he came to Texas and settled in Guadaloupe county. When the civil war came on he joined a cavalry company in Wood's regiment and was afterwards transferred to Elmore's regiment, twentieth Texas infantry. He leaves a wife and one daughter.
