My parents were members of their church when dad, Joe E. Brumbelow, was a student at the University of Corpus Christi. Rev. Graham was at that time pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, TX. Joe Brumbelow also had Brother Harvey Graham preach revivals for him. Rev. Bob Clements was also a graduate of UCC. Four of the Grahams daughters were married to Baptist preachers; the other is married to a Baptist deacon. “Then, a few years after we were married, I met another pastor’s wife that I probably learned from more than anyone. This was Mrs. Harvey Graham, whose husband was pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, TX. She labored so unselfishly beside her husband, took care of a family of five girls, and was the most effective Bible teacher I had met.” -Mrs. Joe E. (Bonnie) Brumbelow, quoted in The Wit and Wisdom of Pastor Joe Brumbelow, Hannibal Books, 2005. (Reference in book is to the early 1950s.) Bonnie Brumbelow mentioned recently that Noveita Graham was a “precious lady.” For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. -1 Thessalonians 5:9-10; The Bible Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.” -Revelation 14:13; The Bible My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. -Psalm 73:26; The Bible -submitted by David R.
