Bailey of Clyde Dies Following an illness of two weeks, Dr. Joseph B. Bailey of Clyde died in Abilene Monday. Funeral at the Clyde Methodist church with the Rev. Martin McBrayer, pastor, conducting the service. Following the funeral the body will be taken overland to Byhalia, Mississippi, for burial by the Patterson Funeral home in Clyde. Assisted by the Kiker-Knight Funeral Home of Abilene. Dr. Bailey was born in Texas 30 December 1878 and was graduated from the University of Tennessee Medical College in 1903. From 1907 to 1932 he practiced in Byhalia, Mississippi. Upon the death of his brother, Dr. J.W. Bailey, in Clyde in 1932, he moved there to take over his practice. He was a member of the Taylor County Medical Association and on the staff of the Hendrick Memorial Hospital. Survived by his wife, a daughter - Mrs. J.H. McGowen of San Diego, Calif.; two sons: W.H. Bailey of Louisville, KY; Nick Bailey of Ellington Field; 2 grandchildren: John McGowen and Mack Bailey. Pallbearers include old friends who have hunted together each winter for a number of years. E.J. Barton, F.A. Bouchett, L.F. Patterson of Clyde, M.H. Perkins of Baird, M.P. Kiker of Breckenridge, George D. Kiker of Abilene, John Bailey, a nephew from Clyde.
