DEL CASTILLO Lidia O. Del Castillo, 93, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, Texas. She was a native of San Luis Potosi, SLP, Mexico and had been a Brownsville resident most of her life. Her husband, Oscar J. Del Castillo; a brother, Margarito Orta, and a sister, Catalina O. Hernandez, preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Lidia R. Castaņeda and son in law, Armando C. Castaņeda; two grandchildren, Armando (Penny) Castaņeda II and Analicia C. (Ted) Quester; five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two nephews, Ignacio V. (Leo-nor) Hernandez and Esteban Orta; and a sister-in-law, Rosita E. Del Castillo all of Brownsville. Also surviving her are one step- daughter, Esperanza (Guadalupe) Padron of Hialeah, Fla.; and two stepsons, Jose A. (Lois) Del Castillo and Manfred (Lucia) Del Castillo of Brownsville, Texas. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. with an evening service at 7 p.m., today, Aug. 17, 2006, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Committal Service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Services will be officiated by Rev. Pedro Garcia.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sunshine Haven, Inc P.O. Box 4478 Brownsville, Texas 78523. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Joe I. Treviņo, Garza Memorial Funeral Home, 1025 E. Jackson St., (956) 542-5511. Additional Comments: Deceased's husband (Oscar J. Del Castillo) was the grandson of a famous Mexican General, Romulo Cuellar. General Cuellar resided in Cameron County until his death in 1916.
